CBRE is seeking to hire a senior counsel to join its legal team dedicated to Global Workplace Solutions, a $15.3B business. The position will be based in Dallas or Chicago.

Responsibilities:

Review, negotiate and draft contracts and transactional documentation related to global commercial real estate services, including Facilities Management, Project Management, Transaction Services and Real Estate consulting.

Identify and assess legal and risk issues including by partnering with the business to analyze complex transactions and address and guide on-account matters arising from time to time.

Develop understanding of key insurance products and risk management principles.

Provide legal counsel and guidance to executives, managers and other employees on legal aspects of the GWS business line.

Maintain current knowledge of the law in areas of special interest to the business.

Conduct legal training sessions and assist in the preparation of training materials.

Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

J.D. from ABA accredited university.

Member of State Bar in good standing.

6 years of private practice and/or in-house experience.


Key
Skills and Strengths:

Experience in negotiating complex contracts and transactions, with a preference for professionals who have experience with corporate outsourcing (real estate or IP), mergers and acquisitions or complex real estate or financial transactions.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, problem-solving and drafting skills. Confidence to escalate issues appropriately to supervisors and business decision makers.

Ability to isolate complex legal issues and provide prompt, concise and commercially focused legal advice, while balancing risks and benefits to CBRE.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities with excellent follow-up skills and organization.

Willingness to work on tight timeframes at a fast pace, including occasionally accommodating different time zones on global transactions.

Ability to develop solid relationships with clients and establish productive working relationships with opposing counsel.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a cooperative effort with the overall legal team and GWS business.
